Mr. Aldrich concentrates his practice in sophisticated estate and financial planning for wealth preservation, charitable planned giving and tax compliance. His clients are national in scope and include major corporate executives, sports and entertainment personalities, entrepreneurs and philanthropists. Mr. Aldrich routinely counsels clients on the use of charitable trusts, charitable foundations, grantor retained annuity trusts, qualified personal residence trusts and family limited partnerships. He has represented his clients in a wide range of legal matters including negotiations of employment contracts, endorsement and licensing agreements, investment due diligence, asset protection planning and tax audits with the Internal Revenue Service and New York State with respect to estate and gift valuations, as well as multi-state income tax allocations.
Mr. Aldrich is also retained as general counsel and/or treasurer to several client corporations and serves as an advisor to client related non-profit organizations and trusts. Prior to joining the firm, he was Chair of Hinman Straub's Estate and Financial Planning Department for nine years, and formerly a partner with the AYCO Company, a national financial planning firm, where he concentrated for 18 years in sophisticated estate and investment counseling.
