Bond, Schoeneck & King, PLLC, a law firm of 300 attorneys in over 30 practice groups, is accepting applications for full-time Information Governance Records Analysts in our Syracuse, New York office.
Position Responsibilities:
Coordinate the checking in and checking out of physical files throughout the office.
Assist in the file maintenance and file closing processes.
Perform periodic office-wide file inventories.
Commit to department wide initiative to maintain the integrity and accuracy of records metadata in our RIM system iCompli.
Identify and document business process workflows.
Manage ongoing Information Governance projects, reporting needs and progress to Information Governance Manager as appropriate.
Assist with Firm digitization projects.
Assist with the defensible disposition of records that have reached the end of their retention period.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with administrative personnel and legal professionals to ensure compliance with department objectives.
Understand and articulate the Firm’s records and information governance policies and procedures, including best practices.
Distinguish and appraise various types of legal practice and Firm administrative records.
Assist in the receipt, review, and migration of physical and electronic records into and out of the firm.
Act as a subject matter expert for all offsite storage locations, coordinating and documenting the receipt, notification, record collection, and transition of records to and from the Firm’s offsite storage.
Provide additional support for the Information Governance Department as needed.
Job Requirements:
Ability to routinely work with standard file boxes weighing up to 40 pounds
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Strong written and interpersonal communication skills
In-depth working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Ability to prioritize and complete multiple assignments in an accurate and timely manner
Willingness to learn and adapt to Firm needs
Reliable, punctual, and professional
Team player with a positive attitude
Strong typing and transcription experience
Bachelor's degree in Library Science, Information Science, or related field preferred
A background in records preferred
A background in a Law Firm preferred
