Best Practices in Running Your Fiscal Intermediary

January 31, February 1, 2018

It is safe to say that Consumer Directed Personal Assistance and fiscal intermediaries (FIs) have the full attention of the Department of Health. The Office for the Medicaid Inspector General (OMIG) has released new audit protocols that indicate that audits of FIs are not far behind. Fiscal Intermediary authorization is underway and has tightened the rules for fiscal intermediaries on what they can and cannot do. The state budget has a number of proposals, including stiff new penalties from the OMIG for violations of basic rules and regulations as to how programs operate.

Now more than ever, it is critical that FIs not just have a deep understanding of the laws and regulations surrounding CDPA; but, of the best practices that can be followed to make sure you are in complete compliance with those laws. This is where in depth knowledge of CDPA, its origination , the philosophies behind the program, and more merge to allow you to fully comply with the laws while also maximizing your organizational efficiency to avoid unnecessary costs in an ever tightening financial environment.

CDPAANYS and Bond, Schoeneck, and King are uniquely positioned to provide this level of insight, offering a morning intensive series on Best Practices in Running Your Fiscal Intermediary.
