Bond, Schoeneck & King Elected Four New Members

(Syracuse, NY): Bond, Schoeneck & King is pleased to announce that effective January 1, 2016, four attorneys have been elected as new members of the firm. The new members are Suzanne M. Messer (Litigation – Syracuse), Jessica C. Moller (Labor and Employment Litigation – Garden City), Kristen E. Smith (Labor and Employment – Syracuse) and Grayson T. Walter (Business, Restructuring and Bankruptcy – Syracuse). Each of the new members is an outstanding lawyer, has consistently performed at a high level, and possess the qualities the firm values.

Suzanne Messer is a litigation attorney who represents a variety of clients in commercial disputes, disputes among business partners and shareholders, and in employment-related litigation. She has extensive experience litigating complex class actions and collective actions involving claims brought under ERISA and the FLSA. Suzanne’s experience includes litigating suits in diverse venues in federal and state courts, as well as resolving disputes through alternative dispute resolution procedures, including mediations and arbitrations.

Jessica Moller concentrates her practice in the area of employment litigation representing employers in both the private and public sector and has successfully represented employers in federal and New York State trial and appellate courts against claims of employment discrimination, harassment, retaliation, invasion of privacy, constitutional violation, wage and hour violation, and many others. Jessica also regularly provides guidance to employers on day-to-day personnel and compliance matters, and serves as an impartial investigator of discrimination and harassment complaints and allegations of misconduct.

Kristen Smith works with employers, large and small, to help ensure compliance with the complex maze of labor and employment laws. She counsels employers on a wide range of issues, including employee discipline, leave and accommodation issues, and wage and hour compliance. Kristen is also an experienced employment litigator, defending employment-related claims in federal court, as well as in administrative proceedings before the New York State Division of Human Rights and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. She works with unionized employers on labor relations matters, including the negotiation of collective bargaining agreements. Kristen is a frequent presenter and trainer. She regularly appears at events sponsored by the Central New York chapter of the Society of Human Resource Management (CNY SHRM).

Grayson Walter represents businesses and their stakeholders in connection with a wide variety of business and transactional matters, with a focus on issues relating to company formation, ownership, governance and transition. He also regularly provides guidance to clients in connection with the turnaround and restructuring of underperforming and financially distressed businesses, including in-court and out-of-court debt restructurings, bankruptcy-related litigation and sales/acquisitions of distressed assets.
