Federal and state health reform have accelerated data exchange across the continuum of care, creating new risks as providers and health plans prepare for value-based payment and participate in the Delivery System Reform Incentive Payment Program. At the same time, the health care industry remains the lead target for hackers and cyber criminals, with ransomware a rising threat to hospitals and other providers. Proliferating reliance on mobile devices and cloud-based storage also calls for rigorous new approaches to risk assessment and remediation. This program will provide practical strategies for health care providers and plans to tackle the escalating risks posed by cyberattacks and health system transformation.
Among other topics, the program will cover:
• New Office for Civil Rights (OCR) guidance on ransomware;
• Current trends in cyberattacks;
• Vendor risks and mitigation; and
• OCR recent enforcement actions and audits.
