Human Services Compliance Academy
November 3 - December 1
This three-hour training session designed for human services agency compliance officers and others in similar roles will provide essential legal updates and information to effectively manage organizational risk. Human services organizations—those authorized or regulated by OMH, OPWDD, OASAS, OTDA, DOH, and other federal, state, city, and local authorities—provide essential supports to individuals with a wide range of needs but face an array of evolving federal and state regulatory obligations. This training is designed to help compliance professionals stay ahead of regulatory changes and effectively navigate the risks and challenges facing their organizations. Participants are eligible to receive 3.6 continuing education unit (CEU) credits.
The Academy will provide guidance in the following key areas:
- Updated Federal and State Regulatory Requirements — Each year brings new federal and state regulations directly impacting agency operations. This session will offer a comprehensive overview of the latest requirements.
- Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, and Health Information Privacy — The advent of artificial intelligence and the growing sophistication of cybersecurity threats create new compliance demands for organizations that must safeguard the privacy of the information entrusted to them. This session will focus on the emerging regulatory requirements in this fast-changing area.
- Government Oversight and Best Practices — Even with a strong compliance program, government oversight is unavoidable. This session will review best practices for responding to oversight from federal and state regulatory agencies, including licensing reviews and audits conducted by the Office of the Medicaid Inspector General (OMIG).
We are pleased to offer this program free of charge to all attendees.
