Jessica Satriano Named to the Long Island Business News Who’s Who in Women in Professional Services

(Garden City, NY): Ms. Satriano is a Labor and Employment Law attorney who counsels public and private sector employers on employment matters. She serves as an impartial investigator of discrimination and harassment complaints; reviews and revises employee handbooks and employment policies on various topics; conducts disciplinary interviews and proceedings; and advises employers on how to comply with various employment statutes including the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA). School district employers have turned to Ms. Satriano to help defend against appeals to the New York State Commissioner of Education. She also defends employers against civil rights complaints made to the New York State Division of Human Rights (SDHR) and the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), and participates in all aspects of trial and appellate level civil litigation.

In her Litigation practice, Ms. Satriano has successfully represented employers in CLPR Article 78 proceedings, on First Amendment retaliation claims, invasion of privacy claims, due process claims and on numerous civil rights claims under the New York State Human Rights Law, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA) and the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA). She has extensive experience defending employers against retaliation claims and claims of race, gender, age, disability, national origin and religion discrimination, among other claims.
