Top Ten Trends and Issues in Employment Law for 2014

This program will address distinct employment law issues that employers are most likely to encounter, or should address during 2014. The speaker will identify each issue, provide the legal background of the issues involved, and suggest strategies for addressing the issue in their organization in a way that reduces legal exposure, while still taking into account the variable employee relations and organizational forces at play. Some of the issues to be discussed include: misclassification of employees, new New York State regulations regarding deductions from pay, pregnancy accommodation, “bring your own device” policies, and the rise of new protected categories, such as the unemployed.
