Legal Update: The NLRB’s New, Aggressive Focus on Non-Union Workplaces
Presented by Kristen Smith
Are you a HR professional in a non-union workplace? Do you tend to tune-out when you hear about the latest rulings and policies issued by the National Labor Relations Board? This program will change the way you look at the NLRB by providing an eye-opening review of the current National Labor Relations Board’s aggressive enforcement activities aimed at non-union workplaces. From confidentiality and employee codes of conduct, to discipline for discussing wages, you will learn about the sometimes surprising ways that a non-union employer can inadvertently violate the National Labor Relations Act and expose itself to significant legal liability. This is a program that no HR professional that has worked primarily in the non-union sector should miss.
Although the National Labor Relations Act has always protected the rights of both union and non-union employees, the National Labor Relations Board has traditionally focused its attention almost exclusively on unionized workplaces. The current Board, however, has placed a substantial emphasis on policing non-union employer policies and practices as well. This program will cover the new and sometimes surprising ways that the Board is targeting non-union employers.
