There has been an explosion of class and collective action wage and hour lawsuits by employees. Major pay outs, bad press, and decreased employee morale are just some of the fallout. This Breakfast Briefing is designed to help Employers avoid becoming a target by reviewing both the legal issues and practical considerations involved with these lawsuits. The Breakfast Briefing will:

  • Review common violations, such as off-the-clock work, regular rate inclusion, automatic meal period deductions, and misclassification of independent contractors
  • Offer practical approaches to identify and resolve troublesome issues prior to litigation
  • Provide strategies to increase the likelihood that an employer can defeat class certification
