Melinda Disare Elected Vice President of the Bar Association of Erie County

(Buffalo, NY): Bond, Schoeneck & King PLLC is pleased to announce Melinda G. Disare, a member in the firm's Buffalo office, has been elected vice president of the Bar Association of Erie County. She will assume the presidency of the organization in June 2017, becoming the sixth woman to become president of the Bar Association since its inception in 1887.

A not-for-profit professional association, the Bar Association of Erie County is the largest local bar association in New York State outside of the metropolitan New York City area. It was founded to "cultivate the science of jurisprudence; promote reform in the law; facilitate the administration of justice; elevate the standard of integrity, honor and courtesy in the legal profession; and cherish the spirit of (camaraderie) among the members thereof."

“As a newly elected officer of the Bar Association of Erie County, I am very proud to have been selected to participate in the leadership of an organization whose membership includes a diverse group of professionals who provide a broad range of legal services to individuals and organizations throughout our community,” stated Melinda.

Melinda concentrates her practice in the representation of public and private employers in connection with labor relations and employment issues including labor arbitrations, collective bargaining negotiations, as well as in wage and hour and employment discrimination matters. She formerly served as a Bar Association director for three years and also chaired the Labor and Employment Law Committee. For six years, she was a director of the Volunteer Lawyers Project, Inc., including two years as vice president.
