Michael D. Billok Has Earned the Certified Information Privacy Professional/United States Credential

Billok, a member in the firm's Albany office, has earned the Certified Information Privacy Professional/United States (CIPP/US) credential through the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP). Launched in 2004 as the first professional certification to be offered in information privacy, the CIPP/US has become the preeminent credential in the field. The CIPP/US credential demonstrates a strong foundation in U.S. privacy laws and regulations and understanding of the legal requirements for the responsible collection, use, and transfer of sensitive personal data.

Mike co-chairs the firm’s cybersecurity and data privacy practice. In addition to counseling clients on best practices for cybersecurity and data privacy, Mike is a labor and employment attorney, advising clients in a wide range of industries—including manufacturing, retail, healthcare, and not-for-profit organizations—on all aspects of the employment relationship. He has successfully defended clients before a number of federal and state courts and agencies, including the National Labor Relations Board, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, and the New York State Division of Human Rights.
