The proposed increase in the minimum salary level for employees to qualify for the FLSA’s white-collar exemptions will have a significant impact on employers. It is important for employers to begin planning now to minimize the risk of potential liability for misclassification of employees. This program will provide an overview of the proposed, or possibly final, regulations, discuss some proactive risk management strategies, and review some options for transitioning employees from exempt to non-exempt status.
