Bond Announces Arthur Siegel as Firm’s New General Counsel
January 29, 2018
(Syracuse, NY): Bond, Schoeneck and King has announced that Arthur J. Siegel will take over as General Counsel, assuming this position from recently retired member John Gaal who held this position for the past six years. Siegel is a trial lawyer with more than 30 years’ experience and is resident in the firm’s Albany office.
Prior to serving as General Counsel, Siegel successfully represented Fortune 50 companies, school districts, private and public corporations and individuals in multi-million dollar product liability, environmental, commercial, premises liability, construction, health, business, tax and other general litigation. He also had an active appellate practice, having successfully argued in the New York Court of Appeals, the New York Appellate Divisions and the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.
“First, I’d like to thank John Gaal on behalf of myself, the Management Committee and the firm for his outstanding dedication to his role as General Counsel. John’s dedication to the firm, including bringing us into the 21st century on cybersecurity issues, will be sorely missed,” remarked Kevin M. Bernstein, chair of the firm’s management committee. On Siegel’s appointment, Bernstein added, “Art’s knowledge of the firm, its mission and core values, will serve us well. I am confident that Art will be an excellent successor to John.” Over the past year, Siegel worked closely with Gaal on the transition of the many areas in which he will be involved.
