Former State Senator Raymond A. Meier Has Joined The Firm As Of Counsel And A Member Of The Municipalities Practice Group

In addition to being a member of the Municipalities Practice Group, Mr. Meier will Co-Chair the firm's Administrative, Legislative and Regulatory Practice Group.
Mr. Meier served 10 years in the New York State Senate from 1997 to 2007. He brings extensive public sector experience and is a recognized leader in Welfare and Medicaid Reform. In addition to his work in these areas, Mr. Meier has served as a leader in promoting economic development initiatives and job growth opportunities throughout his career.
Mr. Meier was Oneida County Executive from 1991 to 1996 and an Oneida County Legislator from 1986 to 1991. He served as Corporation Counsel for the City of Rome from 1980 to 1983; legislative counsel to his political mentor, the late Senator James H. Donovan, from 1978 to 1980; and Deputy Onondaga County Attorney from 1977 to 1978. As a lawyer in private practice, Mr. Meier also provided counsel to a variety of clients in the Mohawk Valley Region. Mr. Meier is a member of the Oneida County Bar Association and is admitted to practice in New York.
Mr. Meier received his Bachelor of Arts degree in political science and a Juris Doctor degree from Syracuse University.
