John D. Clopper Joins Bond, Schoeneck & King

(Syracuse, NY): Bond, Schoeneck & King is pleased to announce that John D. Clopper has joined the firm’s Syracuse office as senior counsel in its litigation practice. He will advise clients on commercial and tort litigation, regulatory issues, and cybersecurity and privacy law. Clopper has worked on a variety of matters involving employment discrimination, environmental contamination, federal taxation, international law, federal administrative law, national security, copyright, privacy law, the First Amendment and the regulation of the higher education sector. 

Prior to joining Bond, Clopper was an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York representing the federal government in civil litigation and investigations. While he was an Assistant U.S. Attorney, he received the Department of Justice’s highest award for achievement in civil litigation, the John Marshall Award, for recovering $125 million in environmental clean-up costs from a Fortune 500 company in bankruptcy. 

Clopper is a member of the International Association of Privacy Professionals and is a Certified Information Privacy Professional/United States (CIPP/US). He is a graduate of The George Washington University Law School and Connecticut College.
