Amelia combines her experience in commercial real estate and property matters to help clients resolve environmental and property issues, including in the transactional and regulatory context.  

Prior to joining Bond, Amelia was Assistant Corporation Counsel for the City of Syracuse, serving as counsel to the city’s Department of Assessment handling litigation and contracts relating to property tax and advising the city administration on disposition strategies for city-owned real estate assets. Amelia represented the city in commercial leases, license agreements and property sales. She also assisted with property seizures. In addition, Amelia handled telecom-related matters including cell phone tower leases and contracts for the city’s 5G rollout.

Amelia previously worked in corporate leasing and in general commercial real estate brokerage. She represented property owners on the acquisition and leasing of multi-tenant properties and represented business owners in securing office, retail, flex and industrial properties. Amelia worked alongside real estate attorneys during the due diligence process and assisted with large commercial property financings.

Additionally, Amelia worked with a commercial real estate development firm on a mixed-use development project and with in-house counsel for a national chain of convenience stores and gas stations. In these roles she learned, first-hand, the impact that environmental concerns can have on property owners.
