Lou is a litigator with substantial intellectual property litigation experience. He represents clients in cases involving patent, trademark, copyright and trade dress infringement, as well as claims of trade secret misappropriation and unfair competition.

Lou helped a local business secure a preliminary injunction against a multi-national conglomerate in a trademark infringement action the New York Law Journal called a case of "David versus Goliath." The United States District Court for the District of Maryland invited Lou to present his winning arguments on a novel question of Internet jurisdiction in a patent infringement case at the University of Maryland School of Law. Lou and a team of Bond attorneys recently defeated a motion for preliminary injunction in a trade secrets case between federal defense contractors in the cybersecurity industry.

Additional examples of Lou's intellectual property practice have included: the successful representation of an industry-leading tabletop products manufacturer in matters brought to protect its trade dress and patented designs from knock-offs in the consumer and foodservice markets; the protection of a major university's name and marks from infringers and cybersquatters; work to protect the famous mark of a well-known package delivery company from dilution in the guise of "parody;" and, work on behalf of a venerable Midwest-based vehicle manufacturer to protect its iconic trademark from misappropriation.
