Profile

MacKenzie is a dedicated and versatile associate whose legal experience spans federal courts, state agencies and private practice. She brings a strong foundation in litigation, transactional law and public service to her work, shaped by a diverse array of internships and externships throughout her legal education.

During her final year of law school, MacKenzie served as a Legal Extern with the Florida Department of Children and Families in the 14th Judicial Circuit. There, she drafted critical court documents—including Termination of Parental Rights Petitions and Manifest Best Interest Orders—and participated in hearings, mediations and permanency staffings, gaining firsthand experience in child welfare and dependency law.

As a summer associate at Bond, MacKenzie has and continues to contribute to matters across litigation, labor and employment, trusts & estates, real estate, and business departments. Her work includes drafting complex legal documents such as jury instructions, revocable trusts, operating agreement amendments and HIPAA authorizations. She also conducts in-depth research on issues ranging from garnishee liability to easement law and attends depositions and hearings.

MacKenzie previously completed a prestigious rotational internship with the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, where she worked with three federal judges. She drafted judicial orders, researched Hurricane Ian insurance claims, and prepared sentencing recommendations in compliance with federal guidelines. Her exposure to a wide range of proceedings—including jury trials, evidentiary hearings, and motions to suppress—deepened her understanding of federal practice and procedure.

Before entering law school, MacKenzie honed her communication and research skills through internships at Arthrex, Inc. and the University of Florida Student Legal Services. Her work included legal content creation, marketing strategy and research on the legal implications of media coverage during protests.

MacKenzie’s broad legal training and commitment to excellence make her a valuable advocate for clients navigating complex legal challenges.
