Stephanie is a civil and commercial litigation attorney who counsels and represents corporations, limited liability companies, not-for-profit organizations, school districts and educational institutions, banks and financial institutions, corporate officers, directors and fiduciaries, individuals and municipalities in both state and federal courts throughout New York State.
She has litigated a wide variety of cases, including, for example, breach of contract claims, commercial disputes, defense of personal injury actions, property rights litigation, easement and boundary line disputes, defense of civil and constitutional rights claims, employment actions, article 78 proceedings and insurance coverage disputes.
Stephanie has significant experience defending corporate clients in complex commercial and federal litigation matters, and is a member of the firm’s complex litigation practice. In this context, her practice focuses on the investigation and defense of claims brought pursuant to the federal False Claims Act, as well as class action litigation related to state wage-and-hour laws. Stephanie has also represented both individuals and businesses, including a hotel management company and an entertainment establishment, in complex tax litigation matters such as appeals of sales and use tax assessments before the New York State Department of Taxation Division of Tax Appeals and Tax Appeals Tribunal.
Stephanie's practice extends to all phases of civil litigation, including pre-commencement investigation, pleadings, pretrial discovery, motion practice and trial. She also has substantial experience briefing and arguing appellate matters; Stephanie has successfully handled appeals in New York's highest court, the New York State Court of Appeals, as well as the Appellate Division of the New York State Supreme Court. She has also represented clients in federal appellate matters before the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. In addition, Stephanie has achieved favorable results for her clients in administrative and regulatory proceedings, as well as a variety of alternative dispute resolution proceedings, including arbitrations and mediations.
Stephanie is a member of the firm's e-discovery and information management practice and has counseled clients through the process of complying with the various procedures involved in the evolving and developing field of electronic discovery, including document retention, review, and production.
