Courtney is a business and tax attorney who represents clients in a variety of transactional matters such as business structuring and restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, formation of entities, venture capital, negotiating and preparing partnership and limited liability company agreements, equity compensation matters, employment agreements and other business matters.
He also represents business entities, individuals and tax-exempt organizations in matters involving federal, state and local taxation, including audits and disputes with federal, state and local taxing authorities. In addition, Courtney provides counsel to family-owned and closely-held businesses.
Before joining the firm, Courtney was associated with Klett, Rooney, Lieber & Schorling, P.C. (now Buchanan, Ingersoll & Rooney), a Pittsburgh based firm. He is an accountant who has passed the certified public accountants exam and the New York State auditors exam.
