May 30, 2012

(Syracuse, NY): The state-wide Tax Assessment, Condemnation & Property Valuation Practice Group recently launched an online blog, the Tax Assessment & Condemnation Report. Its purpose is to inform its audience of taxpayers, property owners, public employees including assessors and data collectors, appraisers, and others interested in real property tax, condemnation and property valuation issues about current events, market trends, recurring legal issues, new case law, and legislative updates, among other things.

Bond's Tax Assessment, Condemnation & Property Valuation Practice Group attorneys have diverse experience representing private property owners, municipalities, and school districts with all facets of tax assessments including, appeals, exemptions, and payments in lieu of taxes (PILOTs). They have a detailed understanding of the procedures involved and the methodologies used to determine the fair market value of real property, together with the multitude of issues which affect or influence property valuation.

Our attorneys are also skilled in the area of condemnation and have handled numerous proceedings on behalf of condemnors including IDAs, gas and electric transmission companies, public utilities, municipalities and public authorities. In addition, we have represented private property owners opposing condemnation of private property and/or seeking just compensation for the loss of their property rights.
