April 4, 2012

The Syracuse City School District Educational Foundation recognized the Bond, Schoeneck & King, PLLC law firm at its Annual Recognition Breakfast on March 31, 2012 at the Nicholas J. Pirro Convention Center. The Annual Recognition Breakfast celebrates and acknowledges excellence in literacy education and recognizes those individuals and businesses which support students and teachers in the District. Each year, the Foundation welcomes over 400 guests to this event, and all proceeds are provided in the form of grants to Syracuse City Schools.

Bond was recognized for its support of education and its five-year partnership with Elmwood Elementary School's Reading Program. Through the Program, attorneys and staff read with students, support the school's book drives, make donations to the Corporate Volunteer Council's Dictionary Project, and celebrate with the students at an end-of-year party. Attorneys from the Firm also provide pro bono legal services at Elmwood's "Say Yes" Legal Clinic.

The Syracuse City School District Educational Foundation is an independent fundraising organization charged with providing supplemental resources for educational programs in the city schools. Founded in 2003, the SCSD Educational Foundation is a 501(c)(3) corporation overseen by a 22-member Board of Directors.
