Bond, Schoeneck & King Hosts Asian American Bar Association Of New York Meeting

September 22, 2009

(Syracuse, NY) On Saturday, September 19th, Bond, Schoeneck & King hosted a launch event for the newly-formed Syracuse chapter of The Asian American Bar Association of New York ("AABANY"). More than 25 professionals were in attendance, including students from the Syracuse University College of Law, and dinner was supplied by China Road restaurant in Mattydale. The purpose of the meeting was to gather attorneys, judges, law students and other legal professionals who live, work or attend school in the Central New York region to meet with the Executive Director and other current members of AABANY to learn more about AABANY, its mission, and the career and networking opportunities available to AABANY members. Meetings were also held in Albany and Ithaca between September 19-20 and were similarly well-attended.

"The Syracuse meeting was a huge success," stated Clifford Tsan, a litigation attorney at Bond, Schoeneck & King, who conceived of the idea to start a Central New York branch of AABANY upon his relocation to Syracuse from New York City in 2008. "I am excited for our legal community to become involved with AABANY and for more meetings and activities to be scheduled, and I am proud to be part of Bond, Schoeneck & King's role in helping to lead this effort."
