The Collegiate Sports Practice Group at Bond, Schoeneck and King (Bond) offers unparalleled experience in NCAA related matters and remains at the forefront of the evolving collegiate sports landscape. Since the settlement of House v. NCAA, Division I institutions have the option to directly license with and compensate student-athletes for use of their name, image and likeness (NIL). The handling of such payments is unique to every institution, and adequate knowledge and staffing is necessary to effectively implement and maintain an NIL program. Our practice has assisted dozens of institutions in managing NIL programs in various capacities. Below are some of the House-related services Bond provides:
- Drafting/Modifying NIL Licensing Agreements
- Providing International NIL Guidance
- Representing Institutions in College Sports Commission (CSC) Investigations and
- Arbitration Proceedings
- NIL General Manager Services
- Providing CAP-Related Services and Tracking
- Managing and Negotiating NIL Licensing Agreements with Student-Athletes (and/or Counsel/Agents)
- Serving as a Liaison to Deloitte and the CSC
- Compliance Support Services
- Drafting/Modifying Coach and Staff Contracts
Bond’s partnership with clients in this environment helps to ensure that institutions are positioned for current and future issues that arise.
If you have questions about how Bond can assist your institution, please contact Kyle Ritchie or any other member of Bond’s Collegiate Sports practice.
