The ADA and FMLA - Just When You Thought You Had It All Figured Out ...
Managing employees with medical conditions requires employers to understand the complex legal web created by the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and the New York Human Rights Law. Recent amendments to the ADA and FMLA, as well as new FMLA regulations, expand the scope of these statutes as well as employers' obligations under them.
In this presentation, John will examine the recent amendments and regulations, explain in practical terms what these amendments mean for New York employers, and explore how the amended ADA and FMLA will interact with other legal obligations to individuals with disabilities, as well as military servicepeople and their families.
