M. Catherine Richardson Receives Syracuse Law Honors Award

(Syracuse, NY): Bond, Schoeneck & King is pleased to announce that retired member (partner) M. Catherine Richardson is a recipient of the 2020 Syracuse Law Honors Awards. The Syracuse Law Honors are presented on behalf of the Syracuse University Law Alumni Association and the College of Law to celebrate the distinguished achievements in any field of endeavor by living members of Syracuse Law alumni, current and former faculty and staff, students, parents and friends, for service to the College of Law, the legal profession, Syracuse University or the world at large.
Richardson (Syracuse College of Law, J.D., 1977) was selected for her dedication to the practice of law and to her community, where she spent her entire legal career specializing in corporate healthcare law and operations, and for her commitment to the legal profession and efforts to advance leadership opportunities for women, including serving as the first woman President of the Onondaga County Bar Association and second woman President of the New York State Bar Association.
“Cathy embodies the best of Bond,” Kevin Bernstein, Chair of the firm’s Management Committee, said. “In addition to being a well-respected attorney in her practice, she mentored countless young attorneys who sought her guidance. Cathy was also a pioneer in her leadership roles with the Onondaga County and New York State bar associations. She continues to be involved in organizations such as the New York State and American Bar Associations, the New York State Judicial Institution on Professionalism in the Law and the Onondaga County Commission on the Modernization of Local Government. We are grateful to have had the chance to work with her and proud she is being so recognized by her alma mater. On a personal note, I am proud to call Cathy a friend and I continued to be inspired by the many ways in which she demonstrates her leadership and commitment to community and the legal profession.”
