Melinda Disare Becomes President of Bar Association of Erie County

June 22, 2017

(Buffalo, NY): Bond, Schoeneck & King, PLLC is pleased to announce that Melinda G. Disare, a member of the firm’s Buffalo office, became president of the Bar Association of Erie County. Melinda assumed the role of President early after the unfortunate and untimely death of the serving President, Greg Miller.

“It is an honor to assume the position of President of the Bar Association of Erie County (BAEC),” stated Melinda. The BAEC is the largest bar association in New York State, outside the metropolitan New York City area, and each year conducts various programs and services for the legal community and the community at large. Members of the BAEC work to improve the profession, the community in which they live and the administration of justice.

A graduate of Cornell Law School (J.D., cum laude 1980), Melinda has been practicing law for more than 36 years. Since joining BAEC, she served three years as a director, three years as Chair of the Labor and Employment Committee and almost a year as vice-president. She has a distinguished record of commitment to the finest traditions of the Bar through public service and professional activities. “As a member of the BAEC, I’ve been able to observe the growing interest in and demand for providing members with programs and services to enhance and improve their experience in the legal profession,” stated Ms. Disare.

Melinda concentrates her practice in the representation of public and private employers in connection with labor relations and employment issues including labor arbitrations, collective bargaining negotiations, as well as in wage and hour and employment discrimination matters.
