Michael is a seasoned litigator and former federal prosecutor with extensive experience handling complex criminal and civil matters. He has tried jury and non-jury cases, represented clients at arbitration and argued before appellate courts.

As an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Northern District of New York for more than a decade, Michael led high-profile investigations and prosecutions involving financial fraud, government program fraud, public corruption, health care fraud, the False Claims Act, tax offenses, drug diversion by medical professionals and national security violations.

Michael was also a Public Information Officer for the U.S. Attorney’s Office, advising on media strategy and serving as spokesperson to local, national and foreign news outlets.

Prior to his government service, Michael practiced at Loeb & Loeb LLP in New York City, where he handled trial and appellate litigation in areas such as business disputes, copyright and trusts and estates. 

Michael is a Trustee of the Federal Court Bar Association for the Northern District of New York, where he is a co-chair of the Criminial Practice Committee and co-editor of the quarterly newsletter.
