Bond Expands Boston Presence with Additions of Blaine Bettinger, Ph.D. and Olivia J. Andrews

October 16, 2025

(Boston, MA): Bond, Schoeneck & King PLLC (Bond) is pleased to announce the continued growth of its Boston office with the relocation of Blaine Bettinger, Ph.D., senior counsel in the firm’s intellectual property (IP) group. Dr. Bettinger joins Mark Beloborodov, a member of the firm and IP group who has been based full-time in Boston since 2022. With a Ph.D. in biochemistry and molecular biology, Dr. Bettinger’s presence in Boston strengthens Bond’s capabilities in the region’s thriving biotech and health care sectors. He has long supported Boston-based IP clients from Bond’s office location in Syracuse and will now be even more accessible to them.

In addition, Bond welcomes Olivia J. Andrews as an IP docketing specialist in the Boston office. With over 25 years of experience in intellectual property, Andrews is a valuable addition to the team and will play a key role in supporting the firm’s IP client base in Boston, steadily expanding since the opening of the office there.

Bond has a long-standing connection to the Boston legal and academic communities. The firm’s IP practice group chair, Jeremy P. Oczek, is a Boston College Law School graduate who practiced in Boston for over a decade. Many of Bond’s attorneys are alumni of area institutions including Boston College, Boston University, Brandeis, Harvard and Tufts – and 10 are admitted to practice in Massachusetts.

Oczek stated, “The addition of Blaine’s deep scientific expertise and long-established relationships with Boston-based clients, combined with Olivia’s decades of IP experience, will significantly strengthen our presence and enhance the services we provide in one of the nation’s most dynamic innovation hubs.”

Management committee chair Brian Butler said, “We’re excited to see our Boston office grow with the addition of Blaine and Olivia. Both bring deep knowledge and dedication to client service and reinforce the excellence of our intellectual property group. Their presence will strengthen Bond in Boston’s legal and innovative landscape.”

Bond’s Boston office is located at One Marina Park Drive in the city’s vibrant Seaport District—just one block from the Federal Courthouse and fittingly next to Bond Drive.
