OSHA Seeing Small Rise in Whistleblower Complaints
February 17, 2021
As a bonus to Bond’s Feb. 16 webinar about the evolving legal implications of COVID-19 for business, Bond labor and employment attorney Michael D. Billok recorded a short video about the latest guidance and enforcement activity from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
OSHA, which updated its COVID-related guidance in January, has reported a slight uptick in whistleblower activity in recent weeks by employees claiming they were retaliated against because they complained about workplace health and safety conditions. The agency’s guidance recommends employers have a procedure in place informing employees they cannot be retaliated against if they’ve complained about the safety of employees during COVID.
The full presentation covered the following topics:
- CDC Update - What Does it Mean for New York?
- OSHA Guidance - Reflections Two Weeks Later
- Virtual Hearing - What to Expect
