April 30, 2026
By: Jessica M. Blanchette, Fred J. M. Price, Ryan P. Keleher
Join us for a practical legal education session focused on three core areas that impact everyday business operations: contracts, intellectual property and litigation.
The program will begin with contract fundamentals, including what makes a contract enforceable and key performance obligations, and common contract provisions, including payment terms, termination rights, limitations of liability, and noncompete covenants and restrictions, among others. Attendees will gain practical insight into how to utilize contracts to allocate and manage risk as well as what to expect if a contract is breached.
Next, we will provide an overview of intellectual property, including patents, trademarks, copyrights and trade secrets. This segment will explain what each form of IP protects, how rights are obtained and enforced and common pitfalls businesses should avoid.
The session will conclude with litigation readiness, focusing on what to do when served with a demand letter or a complaint, when the duty to preserve is triggered, and proper steps to preserve documents and information. Potential sanctions and outcomes will also be discussed. Attendees will leave with practical guidance to reduce legal risk and legally protect the company.
