Understanding Guidance on Travel, Leave and Returning to Work

December 3, 2020

By: Andrew D. Bobrek, Adam P. Mastroleo, and Katherine S. McClung

As a bonus to Bond’s Dec. 1 webinar about the evolving legal implications of COVID-19 for business, Bond labor and employment attorneys Adam P. Mastroleo, Andrew D. Bobrek and Katherine S. McClung each recorded a short video to answer some frequently asked questions.

In his video, Adam reviews the scenarios in which employers need to require their workers to quarantine and/or fill out traveler health forms, according to New York State’s travel guidance.

Andy talks about the steps employers need to take after an employee tests positive for COVID-19 or has come into close contact with someone else who has, according to guidance issued by the New York State Department of Health.

And, finally, Kate discusses the types of leave employers can offer their workers depending on the circumstances and applicable statutes (i.e., the New York State COVID leave law, the federal Families First Coronavirus Response Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, New York State Human Rights Law, etc.).

The full presentation covered the following topics:

  • Update from Albany
  • Return to Work Guidance
  • Travel Guidance
  • Leave Issues
