Applications Developer

Bond, Schoeneck & King, PLLC, a law firm of 300 attorneys in more than 30 practice and industry groups, is accepting applications for a full-time Applications Developer to support the Information Technology Department in our Syracuse, NY office. 

Position Summary:

Working as a member of the Applications Team, this position provides firmwide support by developing, maintaining and supporting the firm’s applications using tools such as SQL, SQL Server Reporting Services, PowerShell, Visual Studio, Intapp platform and various programming languages. This position will also function as primary expert for the SharePoint based intranet.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert for the firm’s SharePoint and Handshake environment by maintaining visual design, site navigation and managing content
  • Develop and maintain application solutions and enhancements to improve efficiencies through the firm, implementing assignments accurately and on time
  • Design, develop and support integrations between firm applications and third-party systems using APIs and related technologies
  • Evaluate existing applications and perform updates and modifications.
  • Development and support for applications using SQL, SSRS, and workflow tools to automate business operations, improve work production, collaboration and system efficiencies
  • Must be able to work as a team to discuss, recommend, and implement improvements
  • Coordinate with vendors and consultants to implement projects
  • Documentation and administrative activities
     

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required.
     

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 8+ years’ experience
  • Strong familiarity working with SharePoint, MS SQL server stored procedures, relational database structures, SSRS and Visual Studio
  • Proven ability to diagnose and solve problems within complex and highly integrated enterprise applications, either by working with third party vendors or using appropriate tools and techniques
  • Excellent communication skills working with project stakeholders for review/enhancements
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and high attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy of data and being responsive to requests
  • Strictly adhere to the firm’s change management and other operational policies
  • The ability to dynamically adjust the transfer of knowledge to co-workers as well as end-users in terms to which they understand.
     

Physical Abilities:

  • The ability to look at computer monitors for 95% of the day.
