Billing Specialist

Bond, Schoeneck & King, PLLC, a law firm of 300 attorneys in more than 30 practice and industry groups, is accepting applications for a full-time Billing Specialist to support our Accounting Department in either our Buffalo, Long Island, or Syracuse, NY office locations. The ideal candidate will provide billing to our clients and internal customers of the Firm with a high level focus on customer service.
Position Responsibilities:
- Generate and edit client pre-bills
- Coordinate the distribution of prebills and follow-up with attorneys to ensure accurate and timely processing and generation of client invoices
- Ensure the individual attorney and client billing requests are addressed in a timely manner
- Monthly review and follow-up on Work In Process aging to ensure that accounts are billed
- Ensure that the Client Management System is up-to-date with name, address, billing group/formats, etc.
- Monthly review of Unapplied and Retainer accounts and timely application of the same to client accounts
- Special projects as required
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- Minimum of 1-2 years experience in billing processing in a high volume, large dollar, automated environment is preferred
- Experience with Aderant Accounting System is preferred
- Strong analytical skills required
- Proficient in Excel and Word
- Strong written and verbal communication skills required
- Must be a team player, able to work independently, and be customer service focused

For our Syracuse and Buffalo locations, this position's salary range is between $50,000 to $60,000, negotiable based on years’ experience.
For our Long Island location, this position's salary range is between $60,000 to $72,000, negotiable based on years’ experience.
