Document Support Specialist

Date: April 10, 2026

Bond, Schoeneck & King, PLLC, a law firm of 300 attorneys in more than 30 practice and industry groups, is accepting applications for a full-time Document Support Specialist in our Syracuse, NY office. The goal for this position is to provide exceptional document support to all attorneys and staff of the firm. The ideal candidate will be able to work in a team environment, demonstrate the ability to step in and assist with incoming tasks, and be an effective problem solver.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Create and revise documents, while adhering to the firm’s procedures
  • Proofread documents carefully for accuracy
  • Transcribe letters and documents through digital transcription
  • Provide various administrative and office services functions including, but not limited to, phone calls, copying, binding, faxing, interoffice deliveries, and overnight deliveries
  • Answer the switchboard and assist clients while maintaining professionalism
  • Learn new software upgrades as needed
  • Assist the Director of Administrative Services with job intake assignments and workflow organization to ensure deadlines are met
  • Interface with both legal and non-legal staff
  • Troubleshooting applications and other work-related issues
  • Provide additional administrative support as needed.
     

Job Requirements:

  • Associate's Degree or High School Diploma required
  • 2–3 years of law firm or office experience preferred; transcription experience is a plus
  • Notary Public certification required (or willingness to obtain while employed)
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent English language skills, including grammar, spelling, and legal terminology
  • Knowledge of legal office procedures and document formats
  • Ability to convert, reformat, and interpret complex documents, revisions, tables, and diagrams
  • Strong listening, communication, and professional interpersonal skills
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work effectively in a team
  • Strong organizational, judgment, and problem‑solving abilities
  • Consistent, professional communication with staff, attorneys, and clients
