Paralegal Fellowship

Bond, Schoeneck & King, PLLC, a law firm of 300 attorneys in over 30 practice groups, is accepting applications for our Paralegal Fellowship in the Syracuse, New York office. With 300 lawyers, and offices across New York State as well as offices in Naples, Florida, Kansas City, and Boston, we represent clients from a variety of sectors including: real estate development and construction; commercial lending and transactions; manufacturing; exempt/nonprofit organizations; higher education; and municipalities and school districts.

Bond’s litigators skillfully handle sophisticated cases in federal and state courts and arbitral forums throughout the United States. Our lawyers represent a wide range of clients from Fortune 100 companies to individuals and small businesses serving diverse industries.
 

Position Responsibilities:

Bond’s paralegal training fellowship offers new graduates a chance to gain paralegal training and insight into the legal profession. It's a great opportunity to develop critical skills for law school or any career. The fellow will be a paid, full-time employee of the Firm for the duration of the fellowship.

This is a 1 to 2 year (renewable at the end of year one for second year), post-graduate fellowship for new graduates.

  • Research, writing, and filing of legal documents in state and federal courts.

  • Assist with administrative proceedings.

  • Track case management and document status.

  • Assist with presentations and other responsibilities related to a dynamic litigation practice.

  • eFiling of documents.

  • Conduct investigations, prepare correspondence or documents for attorneys’ review.

  • Contact court administration and regulatory bodies as needed to fulfill job assignment.

  • Assist with service of process tasks.

  • Review and summarize medical records.

  • Assist with discovery, including electronic discovery.

  • Some travel to other offices for training or cases will occur.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
     

Job Requirements

  • New graduate considering law school.

  • Tech savvy

  • Eager to learn with a hands-on and open mindset.

  • A desire to understand the litigation life cycle, become a key team player, and learn more about the law, law school, and the role of lawyers.

  • The desire to gain real life, professional experience while earning money.

  • A professional, smart and responsible new graduate who wants to learn and develop important research and writing skills.
