Kanani represents clients in a variety of litigation and dispute resolution matters. She advises individuals through complex legal challenges, drawing on experience in criminal defense and government advocacy. Kanani is committed to helping clients understand their legal options and navigate the legal process with confidence.
Prior to joining Bond, Kanani served as a law clerk with the Oregon Department of Justice's Child Advocacy and Protection Division, where she drafted motions, trial memoranda and hearing exhibits, represented the state in uncontested termination of parental rights proceedings, and assisted attorneys in preparing cases for litigation. She also gained experience as a student attorney with the University of Oregon Business Law Clinic, where she advised businesses on intellectual property and business matters, including trademark strategy, state trademark registrations, operating agreements and business formation issues.
Before pursuing a legal career, Kanani earned a degree in mechanical engineering with a concentration in aerospace engineering from Boston University. Her engineering experience included research and product development work, providing her with a strong analytical foundation and technical perspective that she brings to her legal practice.
