Attorneys Michael I. Bernstein, Robert A. Doren, Louis P. DiLorenzo and Terry O'Neil Invited to be Fellows of the American Bar Foundation

Bond, Schoeneck & King, PLLC is pleased to announce that three of its Members (partners) have been invited to be Fellows of the American Bar Foundation. Michael I. Bernstein (New York City), Louis P. DiLorenzo (New York City) and Terry O'Neil (Garden City) have been invited based on recommendations of Fellows in New York State.

"Fellow of the American Bar Foundation is recognition of a lawyer as one whose professional, public and private career has demonstrated outstanding dedication to the welfare of the community, the traditions of the profession and the maintenance and advancement of the objectives of the American Bar Association."

Mr. Bernstein, who resides in the Firm's New York City Office, is a labor and employment law attorney and has experience in the healthcare, education, communications, computing, utilities, engineering, manufacturing, buildings management, construction, book publishing, newspaper publishing, securities and financial services, banking, insurance, transportation, shipping, accounting, entertainment, maintenance, security and retailing industries. Mr. Bernstein has been has been appointed to Task Forces of the Governor and the Lieutenant Governor of New York. Additionally, he has served on Advisory Committees to the American Arbitration Association, the New York City Commission on Human Rights and the New York State Human Rights Division, and has served on the Task Force of the New York State Bar Association that reviewed, with the State Division of Human Rights, the Division's practices and procedures. He is a graduate of Columbia University School of Law (L.L.B., 1962) and University of Michigan (B.A., Economics, 1959).

Mr. DiLorenzo, who is Managing Partner of the Firm's New York City and Garden City Offices, is a labor and employment law attorney and represents employers and management in all aspects of labor and employment law. His areas of expertise include collective bargaining, workplace investigations, NLRB proceedings, labor audits, supervisory training, wage and hour issues, arbitration, jury trials in both state and federal courts, wage incentive plans, OFCCP audits and proceedings, employment litigation before the EEOC and the Human Rights Division and alternative dispute resolution techniques. Mr. DiLorenzo also serves several insurance companies as panel counsel (e.g., AIG and Chubb) with respect to employment litigation matters. From 2002-2004, he served as General Counsel and Secretary to Agway, Inc., a Fortune 500 Company. Mr. DiLorenzo has been a key speaker at numerous seminars throughout the United States and other countries on a wide variety of Labor and Employment Law topics. In addition, he has lectured to various university groups, including the College and University Personnel Association; local, state and national SHRM Conferences; and a number of national and regional business associations. He is a graduate of University at Buffalo Law School (J.D., 1976) and Syracuse University (B.A., 1973).

Mr. Doren is the Managing Attorney of the firm's Buffalo Office. His practice covers the full range of labor and employment services on behalf of management. Mr. Doren concentrates his activities in the area of employment litigation (discrimination, wage and hour, breach of contract, class actions, etc.) in state and federal courts and before the state and federal agencies (EEOC and NYSDHR). His services include counseling and assistance in administration of personnel labor relations, both union and non-union, including union avoidance counseling, collective bargaining and representation of employers before the NLRB and in labor arbitrations. Mr. Doren has particular experience in compliance with state and federal prevailing rate regulations concerning employee compensation on public construction projects, as well as safety regulations under OSHA. He is a graduate of theState University of New York at Buffalo School of Law (J.D. 1975) and the State University of New York at Buffalo (B.S., magna cum laude, 1972).

Mr. O'Neil, who resides in the Firm's Garden City Office, is a labor and employment law attorney whose practice focuses on collective bargaining, arbitration, employment discrimination and litigation, wage-hour matters, ERISA, and OSHA. He has represented some of the largest municipalities in the State of New York, e.g., Nassau and Westchester Counties, and the cities of Yonkers, Mount Vernon and Buffalo. Mr. O'Neil has represented over 20 school districts, including Yonkers, and regularly handles "high profile" disciplinary proceedings, including an Education Law §3020-a case with the highest fine ($100,000) in the history of the State. He also has represented private sector clients in negotiations and litigation throughout the United States and has extensive experience in the printing, record, service and restaurant industries. He currently is labor counsel to Pace University. Mr. O'Neil is a graduate of St. John's University School of Law (J.D., 1970) and St. John's University (B.A., cum laude, 1967).
