CMS Indefinitely Suspends SNF Medicare Provider Enrollment Revalidation Deadline
December 10, 2025
By: Gabriel S. Oberfield, Esq., M.S.J., John F. Darling, Kaydeen M. Maitland
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (“CMS”) have indefinitely suspended the mandatory off-cycle Skilled Nursing Facility (“SNF”) provider enrollment revalidation deadline – one CMS most recently had extended to Jan. 1, 2026, following a number of extensions they earlier issued. CMS has not announced a new revalidation deadline.
In the meantime, SNF providers should ensure all necessary data elements regarding ownership, operational and managerial controls are accurately documented and ready for submission, on the assumption CMS ultimately will announce a new enforcement deadline.
For background on the changes to enrollment requirements, including the updated Form 855A, please refer to an earlier Bond communication on the subject.
