By: Jane M. Sovern and Philip J. Zaccheo

The 2021 Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act, enacted on December 27, 2020, makes additional funding available to colleges and universities through the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF). Although institutions have greater latitude in use of the new funding than that provided by the CARES Act, there are numerous and significant unanswered questions as to how and when the funding may be used. As occurred following enactment of the CARES Act, guidance and interpretive advice from the Department of Education is just beginning and can be expected to continue in the weeks and months ahead.

Join us for this complimentary webinar to discuss parameters and timing considerations for use of the new HEERF funding, specific requirements for financial aid grants to students, options for repurposing unexpended CARES Act funds, and a discussion of remaining unanswered questions.
