As a follow-up to this week’s Business in 2025 webinar, Bond litigator Karl Z. Deuble recorded a brief overview of the topics covered, including a recent New York State Court of Appeals decision called Weiss Broadmore v. Cayuga County. This case touched on municipal liability and in what cases municipal entities would be liable for negligence against particular injured plaintiffs. This case was important because it opened the door to new liability that did not exist previous to this case.
Topics covered in today’s webinar:
- USDOL Guidance on Independent Contractor Misclassification Enforcement
- Delaware Issues Significant General Corporation Law Amendments
- The Death of (Special) Duty? NYS Court of Appeals Creates “New” Exception to Long-Standing Limitation on Municipal Liability
