Weekly Webinar Delves Into College Admissions, the NLRB and the Electronic Wills Act

August 28, 2025

In this week’s Business in 2025 webinar, attorneys in Bond’s higher education, labor and employment and trust and estate practice areas presented the following topics:

  • A new directive from the Trump administration for higher education institutions nationwide to provide more admissions data to the National Center for Education Statistics. The executive memorandum stems from the 2023 Supreme Court ruling in Student for Fair Admissions that the use of race in college admissions violates the Equal Protection Clause of the 14th Amendment.
  • A position taken by the National Labor Relations Board’s acting general counsel regarding the states’ ability to take on the NLRB’s labor relations oversight.
  • New York State’s newly passed Electronic Wills Act, which allows residents to execute (i.e., sign) wills digitally and while not in the physical presence of witnesses.
